Instructions
Leave the butter out till it softens, or microwave it in 10-second increments.
2 sticks unsalted butter
Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl.
1.5 tablespoon cajun seasoning,
1 teaspoon fresh parsley,
1 teaspoon fresh oregano,
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary,
½ teaspoon achiote powder,
1 tablespoon smoked paprika,
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper,
salt
Mix with a hand mixer or small blender until the Cajun butter is creamy.
Notes
This recipe makes two cups of cajun butter, and a serving is half a cup.
Don't melt the butter. It needs to be soft enough to mix the spices in but not melt.
If the cajun butter is too spicy, you can reduce the seasonings or add more softened butter.
Double or triple the recipe so that you have some Cajun butter on hand when you want to add some last-minute flavor to your dishes.
Don't use your hands to mix the butter! The heat from your hands will melt the butter.
