For this air fryer bacon recipe, I use a 4qt Ninja Foodi Grill, but any traditional air fryer will do if you don't have one. Some alternatives are ninja air fryer or cosori air fryer.

One great thing about my Ninja Foodi pressure cooker is that it cooks ingredients in a much faster time than with other cooking methods. It works by circulating hot air so that the ingredients are cooked inside and out.

    🧾 Ingredients Used

    raw bacon

You only need one ingredient for this ninja foodi bacon recipe!

    • Bacon: I use 6 slices of bacon, which is the entire package of bacon, depending on the brand you buy.

🔪 How To Make This Recipe

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 360F.
    2. Arrange the bacon strips in a single layer in the ninja foodi air fryer.
    3. Air fry bacon for 5 minutes, then flip them using a pair of tongs.
    4. Air fryer for 3-4 more minutes.
    5. Serve and enjoy!

    🥫 Storing and Reheating

To store any leftover bacon, place it in an airtight container or sealable plastic bag and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze your leftover cooked bacon! Once the bacon has finished cooking, layer it with wax paper or parchment paper on a baking sheet, then another sheet of wax paper, and so on. It can then be frozen on a pan and transferred to a freezer-safe container once frozen.

To reheat the bacon, simply place it on a plate and microwave for 30-60 seconds, or until heated through. You can also reheat it in the Ninja Foodi by placing it on the air fryer function for a few minutes or until warm.

🍽️ What can I eat it with?

Bacon is incredibly versatile. You can enjoy it alone, as a side dish, or add it to all kinds of meals. Here are some delicious ideas for your ninja air fryer bacon:

    • Omelet
    • Scrambled eggs
    • Roasted Brussels sprouts
    • Soup or salad

    💭 Tips and variations

    • If you want some extra crispy bacon, try preheating your Ninja Food with the air crisp function before cooking. This will help to crisp up the bacon even more.
    • For the crispiest bacon, cook it on the Ninja Foodi grill function. If you don't have a Ninja Foodi, you can cook it in the air fryer function or in the oven.
    • You can also cook frozen bacon in the air fryer! Just add an extra minute or two to the cook time.
    • In addition to regular bacon, you can try different types of bacon like applewood smoked or hickory smoked for a different flavor profile. You can also buy pre-cooked bacon that just needs to be reheated.
    • Make air fryer turkey bacon rather than pork bacon, or even try another bacon type or even uncured meat of any kind.
    • Try adding some seasonings to your bacon, like garlic powder, onion powder, or cayenne pepper, for a little extra flavor. You can also brush on some sugar-free maple syrup before cooking for a sweet and savory bacon.
    • You can also try thick-cut bacon. For thick cut bacon, cook for 10-12 minutes. For thinner sliced bacon, cook for 8-10 minutes.
    • If you're cooking a lot of bacon at once, you may need to drain the grease halfway through cooking. Just remove the bacon from the air fryer and drain the grease onto a paper towel. Then return the bacon to the air fryer and continue cooking.

    👩‍🍳 Frequently asked questions

Can you put raw bacon in an air fryer?

Yes, you can cook raw bacon slices in an air fryer. Just place the bacon in the air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until cooked to your liking. You can also use your air fryer to reheat already cooked bacon. Just cook for a few minutes until warm, and you will have perfect bacon.

Do you flip bacon in an air fryer?

There is no need to flip the pieces of bacon when cooking in an air fryer. The bacon will cook evenly on both sides without flipping. However, you can use a pair of tongs to flip it halfway through cooking time if you wish.

What do you do with bacon grease in an air fryer?

Any excess grease leftover from cooking bacon can be used in many different ways. You can save it and use it for cooking, or you can discard it. If you choose to save it, let it cool and then pour it into a jar or container and store it in the fridge. Otherwise, let it harden and toss it in the trash. Never pour the extra grease down your drain.
