❤️ Why you’ll love it

If you like to start your day with a little caffeine, you know how tempting it is to add sugary syrups and coffee creamer. Fortunately, it’s so easy to make your own keto coffee drinks at home to balance your energy levels and start your day the right way.

Instead of a delicious hot coffee like this bulletproof coffee or keto pumpkin spice latte, this iced coffee is a great option, especially on a hot summer day!

Is Iced Coffee Keto-Friendly?

Iced coffee can absolutely be keto-friendly, depending on the ingredients used. A lot of coffee houses use sugary sweeteners to sweeten their iced coffees, which is not ideal for a keto lifestyle or if you’re on a weight loss journey.

To make a keto-friendly option, ditch the sugar completely.  Instead, enjoy this easy keto iced coffee recipe with a splash of cream of almond milk or take it up a notch with a keto friendly sweetener like sugar-free vanilla syrup. It tastes just like your favorite coffee shop for way less money and without any added sugars!

  • Liquid sugar-free sweetener: You can use any of this type of sweetener of your choice. I like to use torani sugar-free hazelnut syrup.
  • Unsweetened almond milk: Use as much as you’d like for flavor and taste. You can also use coconut milk or a little heavy cream.

  2. Pour in your brewed room temperature coffee and add the sweetener.
  3. Pour in almond milk and stir.
  4. That’s it! Your delicious keto iced coffee is ready!

🥫 Storing and Reheating

Keto iced coffee is best enjoyed freshly made, but you can store it in the fridge for a few days if you want to. Seal it up in an airtight container or mason jar first. It takes just as good the next day.

I don’t recommend freezing cold brew coffee because it’ll lose its freshness. If you choose to freeze it, however, pour it into an ice cube tray and then freeze. To drink it, either use a high-speed blender or let it melt in a glass cup.

👩‍🍳 Frequently asked questions

Is cold brew coffee keto friendly?

Cold brew can be keto-friendly. It depends largely on the ingredients in it. You just have to watch out for hidden carbs and sugars in it if you are on a ketogenic diet. If your cold brew only contains water and coffee grounds, it will be naturally low carb. Use either keto creamers or add some almond milk and sugar-free syrup for flavor.

What can I flavor my coffee with on keto?

You can add flavor to your coffee by adding various flavored creamers or sweeteners to it. They work to enhance the taste of the coffee. Since many coffee creamers contain hidden sugars or preservatives, this should be avoided on a keto diet. Use only those with keto-friendly ingredients.

Can you just add ice to coffee to make iced coffee?

If you add ice to your regular hot black coffee, it’ll turn watery. You want to avoid this, and so that’s why you have to let your brewed coffee come to room temperature first. However, you can brew your coffee twice as strong and add lots of extra ice to it until it doesn’t melt anymore. Then add your creamer and enjoy!
