The primary equipment used for this recipe is the air fryer. It has a no-stress cooking process and is such a lifesaver! I have the Ninja Foodi Air Fryer, and it is undoubtedly one of the best investments I have made.

I make quick, easy, and delicious meals for my family in a way shorter cooking time. If you're in the market for an air fryer, here are some of the best affordable air fryers that get the job done!

    Ingredients Used

    raw cauliflower, buffalo sauce, spices
    • Cauliflower: I use a large whole cauliflower for this recipe.
    • Buffalo sauce: For this recipe, I use my homemade buffalo sauce recipe made with hot sauce, butter, and spices. I make mine at home to avoid the hidden carbs and sugars that many store-bought ones contain. Also, by adding more or less cayenne pepper, I can control how spicy I want it.
    • Spices: Smoked paprika and garlic powder for flavor.
    • Olive oil spray: To coat the cauliflower before air frying.

    How To Make This Recipe

    1. First, preheat the air fryer to 375F. Then, wash the cauliflower under running water and then pat dry with paper towels.
    2. Chop the whole head of cauliflower into florets the same size.
    3. Combine the buffalo sauce with all the spices in a large bowl.
    4. Add the cauliflower florets and toss till well coated.
    5. Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Then. place the cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 10-15 minutes.
    6. Shake the air fryer basket or wire rack halfway through to flip the cauliflower florets to the other side. You may use tongs if you choose.
    7. Bring out and serve with your favorite dipping sauce when ready!

    Storing and Reheating

Store your leftover buffalo bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days. Eat up within two to three days while still fresh.

To preserve for longer, you can freeze this low carb side dish for a few months. First, arrange the florets on a sheet and freeze them. Then remove them from the sheet and put them in an airtight container before freezing.

To reheat, thaw the frozen cauliflower in the fridge overnight. Once defrosted, reheat it in the air fryer at 350F for some minutes. You can also reheat it in the oven at 350F for about 20 minutes.

What can I eat this recipe with?

You can serve this tasty veggie dish with celery sticks and your favorite dressing. It goes great with some blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing.

For a full meal, try pairing it with some oven fried chicken wings, chicken legs, chicken breasts, or turkey breasts.

    Tips and variations

    • An easy way to know the crispy cauliflower is ready is when the florets turn a golden brown color and are fork-tender.
    • Before air frying, chop the cauliflower florets into approximately the same size bite-sized pieces so that they all cook evenly.
    • You can prep this recipe ahead. Chop the cauliflower, make the sauce, and pack them in separate containers till you're ready to use them.
    • Before frying, spray the florets with olive oil spray or cooking oil to make them nice and crispy.
    • Use fresh cauliflower for this recipe. Frozen cauliflower will retain some water when thawed, so it won't crisp up as needed.
