  • Ground beef: While you can use any ground beef for this dish, I recommend using 85% extra lean ground beef. A slightly higher fat content adds more flavor to this meal!

  • Fresh broccoli florets: If you don't have broccoli florets, you can use a head of broccoli instead.

  • Coconut aminos: This dark-colored sauce has a salty umami flavor, similar to soy sauce, with zero carbs. If you don't have any coconut aminos on hand, you can substitute this for soy sauce, which has about .7 net carbs per serving – so it's still a low-carb option.
  • Spices: This recipe uses bouillon powder, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt, creating a savory spice blend with a bit of heat.

This easy meal comes together in less than 30 minutes!

  1. Dice the onions and garlic. Add olive oil to a large skillet after turning the stove to medium-high heat.
  2. When heated, add onions and garlic, and sauté for a few minutes. Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the spices and cook until the meat is browned. Mix in the broccoli and pour in the coconut aminos.
  4. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes or till the broccoli is soft. If the broccoli is not soft, but the ground beef mixture begins to get dry, add a little beef broth.
