This recipe is so simple and the air fryer makes the cooking process so easy. I often forget to defrost my frozen chicken breast the night before, so this recipe is so convenient as the chicken goes from the freezer straight to the air fryer.

Best of all, this frozen chicken breast in an air fryer is low-carb, gluten-free, and keto-friendly!

You will need an air fryer, a meat thermometer, a small mixing bowl, and a pair of tongs to make air fryer frozen chicken breast.

  • Frozen Chicken Breasts: Larger, thicker chicken will take a little longer to cook, while thin-sliced chicken breasts will not need as long. 
  • Chicken Seasoning: I use my homemade chicken seasoning for these air fryer chicken breasts. It's a mix of flavorful spices that brings flavor to any type of chicken dish.
  • Olive oil: This will help coat the chicken with the seasoning.

🔪 How To Make Frozen Chicken Breast in the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400F. This will take about 3-5 minutes, so l prepare the marinade while it heats up.
  2. In a small bowl, add the olive oil and the chicken seasoning. Stir to combine the seasoning and the olive oil well.
  3. Coat the chicken breasts on all sides with the olive oil and seasoning mixture. This can be a little messy, so I like to use gloves for this.
  4. Once coated, place the chicken breasts in the air fryer in a single layer. Don't stack or overcrowd the air fryer, as this will prevent the chicken from cooking evenly.
  5. Air fry the chicken breasts at 400F for 15 minutes. Flip the chicken and then air fry for another 10-15 minutes, depending on how thick your chicken breast is.
  6. The chicken breasts are ready when it reaches an internal temperature of 165F.

🥫 Storing and Reheating

Any leftover air-fried chicken breasts should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.

It is safe to refreeze the chicken breasts once they are cooked. Thaw them overnight, then air fry them at 350F for 10-15 minutes, depending on how thick they are.

💭 Tips and Variations

  • Do not overcrowd the chicken in the air fryer. This will prevent the chicken from cooking evenly.
  • Cooking time can vary depending on the size and thickness of the chicken breasts. Thicker chicken will take more time to cook, whereas thinner chicken will take less time. Check the chicken for doneness about 25 minutes into the cooking process.
  • For best results, test the thickest part of the chicken to ensure it's done. The internal temperature of the chicken should be 165F. Using an instant-read thermometer is quick and easy.

  • 2 chicken breast  frozen
  • 2 tablespoon chicken seasoning 
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400F for 3-5 minutes.
