Enjoy the juiciest, most delicious pork chop you've ever had with the best pork chop seasoning. You never have to deal with bland, plain pork chop ever again with this super easy homemade pork dry rub!

    easy pork dry rub seasoning

This quick, easy, and delectable pork chop rub is guaranteed to become a staple in your spice drawer. The spice blend gives so much flavor and transforms regular-tasting pork chop into a tongue-biting delicacy.

Whether you prefer to air fry your pork chops, bake them in the oven, or grill them outside in the summer, this homemade dry rub is the only seasoning you will ever need.

Best of all, my homemade pork rub recipe takes just two minutes to whip up. It is so convenient and so easy to make since I don't have to cook any ingredients.

I prefer to spare a few minutes to make pork seasoning instead of using store-bought ones. They taste so much fresher and do not contain preservatives or additives.

Also, you don't have to search very far to get the ingredients for this recipe. This great-tasting spice mix is made of regular spices you probably already have at home. This is by far the best seasoning for your pork chops hands down!

    Ingredients Used

spices used to make pork rub

These are the simple ingredients you need for flavorful chops every time.

    • Black pepper
    • Garlic powder
    • Smoked paprika
    • Cayenne pepper
    • Dried oregano
    • Ground mustard
    • Cumin powder
    • Salt.

    How To Make Pork Seasoning

This simple pork chop seasoning comes together very quickly.

    1. Pour all the spice ingredients into a small bowl and mix them properly.
    2. Store in an airtight container.
    3. Use about one teaspoon for thin chops or one tablespoon for thick chops.

    Storing and Reheating

Store your pork chop spice rub in an airtight container for up to six months. Keep away from sunlight and keep it in a cool, dry place.
Like your other dry seasonings, you should keep the leftover rub away from water or other liquid. Also, there is no need to refrigerate or freeze it.

How to use pork chop seasoning

Season each pork chop with this pork spice mixture and rub it all around, on the surface and the sides of the chops.

Make sure the pork rub covers the sides of your pork chop if you use thick slices. For thinner ones, you can just concentrate on the top and bottom since the sides would be flat.

What can I eat this recipe with?

This homemade pork seasoning recipe is a simple blend of basic ingredients, but it is pleasantly versatile. Use it, not only for boneless pork chops but for your chicken, beef, steak, and even chicken too. Serve pork chops with your favorite sides like cauliflower rice, broccoli, or cabbage.

    Tips and variations

    • You can customize this dry rub recipe to your taste. Add some white pepper, onion powder, or even more chili powder.
    • You can also pour all the spices into a ziploc bag, then shake to mix.
    • This recipe calls for smoked paprika for its particular taste, but you can use regular paprika instead.
    • Shake off excess seasoning from the pork chop after rubbing it in or crumbs of it would fall off while roasting and burn.

    Frequently asked questions

What spices go well with pork?

You can season pork chops with regular salt and pepper, and they would taste okay. But why settle for okay when you can have the tastiest pork chops ever? Season your pork with this recipe and you would never have it any other way again! This recipe includes garlic, oregano, and other spices that are ideal for seasoning pork.

How do you add flavor to pork?

My favorite way to add flavor to pork is to season it. Depending on what your pork seasoning is made of, it will add a rich flavor to the pork. Of course, another way to add flavor to pork is to marinate it. This is especially useful if you have some time before you grill it. The pork will soak up the delicious flavors of the marinade and turn out tender and juicy.

    When should you season pork?

If you have time, season your pork 30 minutes to an hour before cooking so the flavors really sink in. It will absorb the delectable seasoning and end up really juicy and flavorful after roasting. If straight from the fridge, wait for the pork chop to get to room temperature first. But if you're in a hurry, you can use it a few minutes before cooking. Don't forget to pat it dry and rub it with olive oil before applying the seasoning to it.
